This position fosters collaboration among state partners to develop or enhance processes to divert youth and young adults up to age 25 with mental illness or COD from the juvenile justice and criminal justice systems prior to arrest or booking to expanded, culturally
responsive community-based behavioral health services. The Regional Youth Diversion Specialist will also support the implementation, expansion, and integration of the SOC approach by creating sustainable infrastructure and services to help children, youth, and young adults up to age 25 at risk of or with SED or SMI thrive in their homes, schools, and communities and prepare them for successful transition to adulthood.
